The HSAA Varsity men, playing with 7 call-ups from the JV team, played a valiant match Friday night against a very good St. Mark's squad, falling 7-0.
St. Mark's was dominant throughout the match, as the Angels defense, led by Sean Fletcher, struggled to deflect the offensive assault of the Lions' shooters. GK Matthew Welch recorded 9 saves and conceded 3 goals before being injured by a kick to the face on St. Mark's fourth goal, a rugby scrum on the end line between the pipes. Darius Morgan completed the match in net.
Kisito Faa played a good game, with some sparkling moments before he too went out with an injury to his knee late in the second half.
On the offensive side, Nathan Davis and Sean Fletcher had shots on goal, but otherwise the HSAA side was not able to counter the pressure from St. Mark's.
