Highland Park downs the Angels 3-1

The Scots of Highland Park High bested the JV Angels Thursday night by the score of 3-1.  HPHS started the scoring early, with a one-on-one breakaway in the 13th minute that they managed to get past GK Matthew Welch.

HSAA tied the score a few minutes later with a beautiful header by Caleb McDaniel on a corner kick from Peter Byrd.

However, HPHS scored their second goal just before the half, when an unmarked attacker in the center of the box punched it before the GK could slide over from defending the original angle near-post.

Highland Park would not relinquish the lead again, and added the third and final goal at the 67' mark, on another breakaway.
