JV falls to Temple Christian 5-2

The JV Angels lost to a full-squad Temple Christian side on Tuesday night, falling 5-2 in a hard-fought match.  Temple, who has only one boy's soccer team, took control in the first half with their first line of players, who overmatched the HSAA defensive line-- all 5 goals scored by Temple were on break-away runs.

GK Matthew Welch made 16 saves in the losing effort, and defensive specialist Aaron Thorne was credited with 2 saves as well.

Early in the second half, Temple substituted their second line of players, and HSAA began to balance the pitch a bit more.  Caleb McDaniel scored the first HSAA goal in the 58th minute, off an assist from Peter Byrd.

At the 65' mark, Aaron Thorne took a free kick for the Angels, and Sam Lee headed it in for the second and final goal, bringing the final score to 5-2.
