Varsity falls 3-0 to PCA for 2nd place in POP tourney

For the second time this week, the varsity men tussled with Prestonwood Christian and came away mauled 3-0 by the Lions, as the Angels took second place in the 2016 Prince of Peace Winter Tournament.

"Tussled" is putting it mildly—the match proved to be quite chippy on both sides; at the end of the day, Prestonwood's superior play in the midfield was the Angel's undoing.

The first PCA goal was well-earned, on a beautiful header off a corner kick in the first half.  The remaining two goals fell into the "unlucky" column: one caused by a defender slipping on the rain-soaked pitch, leaving GK Grant Zanetell to face a two-on-one deep in the box; and an unfortunate own-goal when an HSAA defender was attempting to back up the keeper on a second chance shot on a PCA corner.

HSAA played hard and had some good chances, but just could not keep up with Prestonwood's speed in the midfield and antics all over the field.
