Varsity loses to Parish Episcopal 3-2

Match time:  Friday 12/16/16  5:30 PM
Opponent:  Parish Episcopal
Location:  Gloria H. Snyder Stadium, Farmers Branch, TX
Conditions: Clear and cool

HSAA:  2
Parish Episcopal:  3

On a night filled with extremely physical play and multiple players succumbing to injuries, the varsity Angels hung tough with Parish Episcopal before losing by a score of 3-2.

Parish opened the scoring in 9th minute, but Koby Estes evened the score at the 15' mark.   The Panthers scored two more to send the teams to halftime at 3-1.

In the second half, Oliver wells scored right away to make the score 3-2, but HSAA was never able to add the equalizer despite some of their best team play this season.

Special shout-out for play that might not show up in the stat sheet:
1. The entire team for the way they came together on a night of injury and adversity.  Coach Curt was still jonesing over it the next day at the Christmas party.
2. All the injured players.  This game was very, very physical (and I'm being a polite blogger here), and players were going down like flies.
3. Backup GK Matthew Welch, for actually bringing and finding the correct field player jersey... if one more player had gone down, he was going to have to figure out to play outside the pipes again.
