JV Boys dominate PCA in home opener

The JV Boys shot the lights out in their home opener against the Prestonwood Christian Academy side, winning 8-0.  (Although McInnish park has been known to have issues with the lights, this opening line was purely metaphorical)

The Angels took complete control of the game, owning the midfield and transition game, allowing their shooters to pepper the PCA defense with 25 shots, 17 of which were on goal.  Midfielder Peter Byrd had a good game, intercepting numerous transition attempts by PCA and sending the momentum back to the HSAA forwards.

Max Perez lead the shooters with a hat trick, while Jason Goodin and Koby Estes had a pair each.  Brayden Silvey and Payton DePalma also added a goal apiece.

When PCA did manage to threaten the Angels' side of the pitch, the defense closed down the wall; the keeper only had to come out and pressure one shooter, who missed high.


Sportsmanship shout-out to our noble opponents:
#22, right midfielder for PCA.  He never stopped hustling even when it was clear what the outcome would be.
