The JV Men finished off the first day of Nationals play with a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Cornerstone.

In the early minutes, this seemed to be a evenly matched game, but eventually Cornerstone opened the scoring with a blooper that reached the upper 90 on the backside of the goal.   With a goal under their belt, Cornerstone ratcheted up the pressure on the HSAA defense and began to control time of possession as the HSAA midfield game struggled with retaining possession and transitioning.

Cornerstone scored on a free kick from 20 yards, when a rebound from the keeper's first save could not be cleared.   The goal sent the teams to the half-time grass with HSAA down 2-0.

In the second half, the Angels continued to struggle with transitions, and Cornerstone scored two more goals to finish off the first day of competition.

Special shout-out for play that might not show up in the stat sheet:

Tim Rayle, Josh Glass (2 header attempts on goal)
