Varsity falls 4-2 to CPA, takes 2nd place at Nationals

The HSAA varsity men played for the 6A championship at Nationals, but were defeated 4-2 at the hands of CPA.

CPA jumped out to a 2-0 in the first half, as HSAA struggled to get their footing in an increasingly swampy south end of the pitch against their hard-pressing opponents.

Nolan Gerwing scored in the 38th minute to get HSAA on the board before halftime.

CPA added a 3rd goal in the second half before Darius Morgan scored to make it 3-2.

HSAA pressed hard in the final minutes to make a go of it, but CPA scored a final goal in the waning seconds to clinch the match.

With the result, HSAA varsity took 2nd place in the 6A bracket.   Team pictures and All-Tournament winner updates to come later.
