Varsity spoils Fort Worth Country's Day 5-4

The Varsity Angels played Rock 'Em Sock 'Em goals with Fort Worth Country Day Friday night, eventually prevailing to notch a 5-4 win.

Caleb McDaniel opened the scoring in the 13th minute on an unassisted goal, but FWCD scored two goals in the next 14 minutes to take the lead.  Caleb decided he wouldn't stand for that, so he scored his second unassisted goal at the 31' mark, to make the score 2-2.

Trevor Mrochek gave HSAA the lead in the 40th minute, on a feed from Keegan Alexander.

However, FWCD scored an equalizer just before half, sending the teams to the benches tied 3-3.

In the second half, FWCD struck first, in the 50th minute to gain the lead once again.

Trevor Mrochek negated that at the 70' mark, scoring unassisted to even the score once again.

Five minutes later, Sam Lee scored off an Keegan's second assist to put HSAA up 5-4, which would stand as the final score.

GK Zach Taylor made 9 saves in replacement of the flu-stricken Matthew Welch.
