The JV mens team took to the pitch in the 2015 Nationals 4A bracket Championship match, and took a 2-0 lead thanks to Peter Byrd, who scored his first goal of the tournament at the 9' mark, and Caleb McDaniel who netted a PK 9 minutes later.
KC East managed to tie the score before the first half expired, and in the second half both teams battled ferociously to try to get the winning goal in regulation. The Angels' defense and keeper worked overtime (literally), fighting leg cramps and fatigue to hold the score at 2-2 until the 2nd Golden Goal Overtime expired.
In the penalties, HSAA was down 2-1 after round 2, then rattled off 2 straight goals; KC East missed their third attempt and GK Matthew Welch stopped the fourth to put HSAA on the brink of victory. Josh Hurwitz then netted the 5th kick to seal the win, 4-2 in penalties.
For the second straight year, the HSAA Men's JV Angels won the 4A bracket at Nationals.
