JV defeats Heritage 2-0, takes 1st place in 4A bracket

The JV side started a match against Heritage Academy, vying for the right to play in the championship of the 4A bracket, but by the end of the match found themselves champions on the strength of 2-0 win over Heritage Academy.

First place! 

At halftime, the coaches were notified that a team had been disqualified from the tournament and the decision had been made to make this match the championship match for 4A.

At the time of the notice, HSAA led 1-0, on a shot by Sam Lipper from inside the box that arced over the keeper's head and into the goal.

In the second half, the teams fought a very tightly contested match, with possession about even and very good hustle and aggression from both sides.  Midway through the second half, Heritage was called for a push in their box, and Jacob Sustala netted the PK to make the score 2-0.

HSAA was able to hold that score for the remainder of the half and finished their 2017 Nationals runs as champions of the 4A bracket.
